With so many styles of jeans out there now, its important that we find the best one for our bodies. Have you ever seen so many words to describe ANY other clothing?
Boot-cut, skinny, ripped, boyfriend, flared, high waist, acid-washed, straight, loose, classic, colored, vintage, low-rise, hipster, crop, curvy, wide-legged, maternity…. the list goes on.
Most of us know right away what looks good on us. Pay attention to your body type (apple, pear-shaped, hourglass, straight) and pick a jean that minimizes the bad and enhances the good; and of course always taking into consideration the occasion and the shoes to be worn! Want to add a butt? Busy the backside via bling, pockets, embroidery. The opposite will minimize the butt. Flared-leg will thin those thighs. I am 5’8” and I have a more stick straight build with a medium booty, boot-cut or skinny jeans are my favorites. Since I’m over 40 years old, I am careful about whether my butt crack sneaks a peak. I’m not a fan! However, you won’t catch me wearing high-rise either. Sorry ladies, there is nothing flattering about a jean that covers the crack AND all the muffin tops together! Don’t be afraid to wear some rocking heals with those jeans.
