Who Needs Therapy?
I do! I do! Who doesn’t need a little therapy along the path of life? Lucy, my 8 year old black labrador, has just qualified to be a therapy dog. She had to pass a few physical tests; not so hilarious when she suddenly decides to not mind me. She will now do three observations in either retirement homes, or the hospital. Lucy has an incredible story. She survived a hit and run last March, spent one month in the hospital, had 5 surgeries including a hind leg amputation. The Vet says she is a miracle dog that keeps on giving! Lucy teaches us all a lot about endurance and finishing the race. See, she doesn’t know that her leg is missing, or that she is scarred up beyond recognition. She lives in the present, not the past or future. We should all aspire to be like her; not perfect, but loving ourselves just the way we are. If we live in the present, we gift our selves the memory of the moments. See if our minds wonder ahead, or behind, then we don’t remember what we are experiencing RIGHT NOW. Be like Lucy, Don’t cry over your past, don’t stress about your future, find joy in the present.
