I just got my issue of Real Simple in the mail and realized the importance of Purging! It seems to be a common term, yet there is so much good that comes of doing this. Purging is defined as “ridding of or releasing unwanted items.” But it’s not just items we need to purge. Consider this: You might be carrying with you items of your past. Whether they reside in a closet or in your head. It’s like the old skis in the closet. We don’t know they are there until we open the door. We see them, we know they are not useful to us, yet we still hang on to them. Ask yourself Why? Why do I carry this guilt? Sorrow? Hurt? When we let go, it gives us a sense of cathartic release. We gain a sense of cleansing. I can tell you, there is NO BETTER FEELING! This holiday I want you to begin to think how you are going to purge. Whether it’s your mind, body, spirit or closet; Find that something.
