Past, present and future…our lives are and will be uniquely tattered. We have all felt broken at one point or another and whether our lives look like an emotional battlefield or a safe haven, we have all sought healing. Like a physical wound, emotional wounds left untreated will worsen over time and will surely convince us of a ‘less than’ life. 46 years into a life filled with mistakes and insecurity, I realize now that my best life CAN happen with acceptance, forgiveness and daily gratitude. The more I let go of my past, the more it lost its power over my future, clearing the way for a life of joy and purpose. Brene Brown writes about this life synergy in her book The Gifts of Imperfection. Once we allow ourselves to accept that we are worthy to live our best lives, we can begin to do just that.
Today is the day to face the past, live in the present and make the whole beautiful. Whatever your journey, your life is beauty and its perfection is in the imperfection.
