My recent trip to the west coast helped me remember the art of outside play. As a child it’s so easy to be outside. That is the place your mom sent you everyday to get you out of her hair. This trip to Seattle, Vancouver and Whistler Mountain kept me and my family outside. We bundled up, bought new funky skull caps and walked a lot! We left our cell phones in the car, unless we were taking pictures. And somehow the cellular gods did not allow us an international plan so being unplugged for the week came easy. We bonded, I noticed facial hair on my kids, we pointed out to each other scapes I wouldn’t have noticed, corny and valuable memories were created. So get outside this weekend no matter where you live. I think it will surprise you what takes place.
