Life is not about the “Winning.” However, we are winners when we live in the present moment. Too often we are thinking about our next “to do” or reflecting on the person’s botched haircut, and we are not really listening. Being present means we pause. This weekend my older son will go to the Prom for the first time. This is a moment in time when all parents pause while taking the endless pictures, all the while teens rolling their eyes. It is my hope for you this weekend that you will go out into this world and take time to pause. A gift to the person you are with is BEING PRESENT. You will win a lot things: the gift of remembering the conversation, the gift of giving that friend total mindshare. I can’t wait to go take pictures of my son in a tuxedo, walk down memory lane and just BE.
