We take care of our bodies, but what are we doing to take care of our minds? Our thoughts drive our actions. And our actions drive this planet. These thoughts I write for you are not about saving the planet. We all know we need to do that. I’m talking about keeping your mind healthy so we can be the best we are called to be. In my forty-eight years young, I’ve witnessed how easy it is to slip into either addiction, depression, or anxiety with the help of a single circumstance. And once this new condition hits, it rules. We are called to do everything in our power to keep these conditions at bay.
Thoughts evoke an emotion. Emotions create a desire. Desires migrate into actions. What are your thoughts? If you find yourself dwelling on the negation, you are probably feel sadness or rage. If you feel sadness or rage, you desire to fix it. Your desires will turn into actions that may not be healthy. Instead of negative thoughts, tell yourself you will only entertain positive thoughts. This life is not about living on Lexapro or Zoloft, but about filling our minds with thoughts that will keep us positive and moving forward. Next time you find yourself thinking otherwise, STOP! Say out loud “I don’t entertain that thought” and you will actually move on to another positive thought, motivating desire and toward an action in the direction of your goals. Who knows who else is watching you. You are someone’s example.
