My thoughts the last couple of weeks have been dominated by gratitude, and giving thanks. Thanksgiving is a beautiful holiday. It is a holiday where we can slow down, and sit down for a meal with family and friends and take time to remember our blessings and everything we are grateful for. This Thanksgiving I’ve been inspired to give thanks with all my senses: My eyes: I will look around the table and see the abundance of food and all the smiling faces that surround me. My ears: I will listen for the sounds of laughter, songs playing, football on TV, and the crunch of leaves as we take a walk after eating. My nose: I will smell the Thanksgiving feast cooking, pies baking, candles, and a warm fire burning. My mouth: I will taste and savor all the delicious and amazing food and drink that is served, and My touch: I will use my hands to help others who are less fortunate than me, or wrap them around someone for a hug. Our eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and hands can help keep us in touch with the abundant moments in our lives and help us be aware and give thanks for them.
