Don’t Worry, Be Happy
"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"- Luke 12 25-26
According to Web MD, Worrying is feeling uneasy or being overly concerned about a situation or problem. With excessive worrying, your mind and body go into overdrive as you constantly focus on “what might happen.” Worry is the nature of our world. They also go on to say that worry can cause physical illness. So in short, worry is not a good thing!
Things in our lives are not always as they should be and we try to FIX it, CHANGE it, CONTROL it, you name it, we do it. We are not in control of outcomes as much as we are in control of the choices we make that lead to these outcomes. By asking the Lord into your life and into your heart, you immediately recognize His presence. He is always with you and His spirit is a part of who you are. This faith and these thoughts will leave little room for the stress that will otherwise bind you emotionally and physically.
I have heard that in the midst of conflict, stress or a negative situation force a smile and naturally your mind will initiate happiness. Maybe that is a great place to start, then know that you are not alone.
