DO IT YOURSELF!
The national forecast for this weekend is gorgeous with a chance of beautiful all across our nation, except for Virginia area, sorry folks. So this weekend, I want you to get outside and create something with your own hands. Maybe you have an old boat and you can make a bed out of it, like the one pictured (now THAT’s aggressive)! I’m listing for you a few web sites to get you started. I have a child’s wooden play set I need to sell, and I’m thinking it will be much more attractive if brightly colored. My kids can even help, and I’ll split the money with them… 60:40 of course. Wallpaper an old dresser inside and out and add some cool door knobs for pull handles. Paint a single wall in a room or stairwell. Tie yarn around a paint roller for a different effect! Create a care package for someone you don’t even know who is in the hospital and deliver it - Love, Anonymous. Spray paint those old candlesticks or lamps you are tired of. Mix and match bright colors! Stretch some favorite leftover fabric onto a blank canvas and hang it in that random space. Put a light over it.
I love to decorate a table. For the next girls gathering, take a shoe (pump is preferred) and pot a plant in it for a cool center piece. And my favorite that I will be doing tomorrow??? Buy a few pumpkins of varying sizes for your elderly neighbor and deliver them to the doorstep with a note attached. There is nothing more satisfying than repurposing an item yourself or gifting someone a surprise. Hope you enjoy your own inspirations this weekend.
